It got me!

I’ve been fighting off bugs and cold (and winning) since before christmas. I can’t remember the last time I was physically sick, well apart from occasional alcohol related incidents. So surprise, surprise when I finally caught the sickness bug I’d been avoiding.  You can probably guess that I am not impressed. After spending all night in the hell that is 24 hour bugs I then spent the day feeling awful, which meant missing uni. Not cool. I’m a total geek, I love uni and absolutely hate missing something I wanted to study because I’m sick, whether that be physically or mentally.

So this is just a post to let you know I’m alive but feeling absolutely awful!

‘I’m a mess right now’

I’m still quoting, thinking, listening to Ed Sheeran so I though I’d use lyrics from his latest album to describe my day. This isn’t a post about my life going in tatters or a twenties crisis. I have food poisoning so I’m a sleeping, stupidly warm mess right now. To top it all off apart from sleeping I’ve also managed to pour boiling hot tea on myself, the sofa and the floor which is just what you want.

So it will not be an interesting blog last night because food poisoning is currently my life. I’ll hopefully be back on top form tomorrow and pick out some new oh so stylish glasses, geek chic here we come.

A few days of hibernation

Being completely well for over a month is a little suspicious to me, aside from the lows which are going to happen anyway, I’ve been well. So roll up, roll up let’s see what is going to take a whack at my immune system today! I’m kidding, I’ve been enjoying feeling healthy but the last few days have knocked me for six! I slept for 17 hours yesterday. 17 hours!

My blog has been quiet, my Twitter and my Facebook. I felt absolutely awful for the past few days and was barely able to get out of bed, let alone write for you all. I was frustrated in the few times I was awake but as my Mum said, my body must have needed the rest if I just passed out the way I did only waking up for a drink of water and then falling asleep again.

I’m slowly, but surely, on the mend and getting prepared for a very busy week as the festival is only 6 days away! I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet, I’ll be livening up soon enough!

Being looked after

Ali and I this weekend…not our best picture

As you all know I’ve been pretty poorly lately with my kidneys. After making the decision to come back to Kingston Ali has been incredible and I honestly needed it. I’m making this a blog about the whole weekend because the two days were very similar. I was cuddled a lot, kept an eye on and fed. Ali knows about kidneys so I was under his watchful eye for three and a half days, which really makes him a saint as I’m not the easiest person to deal with especially when I am sick and stressed. The up side was that I was able to sleep properly at Kingston Hill and although I was upset and didn’t want to leave on Sunday night.

You have to understand that Ali and I have been together for over five years now so it’s odd living 20 minutes apart and having new lives and new friends. I hope this will make us stronger and more independent but it is hard being in a relationship at uni, even the same one! Either way I’m so greatful I had someone to look after me up here, Ali really is one of a kind.
